Structural & Engineering Details

How This Structure Works

This display box combines an open countertop tray with a punch-out partition that seats individual units upright and keeps them separated. The partition is scored into the structure and pressed out during setup, so it forms internal cells without a separate insert to source. Standing the products in rows makes each one visible and easy to pick, which can suit checkout or aisle-end displays. The geometry keeps units from leaning or tangling while the open front invites browsing. Because the partition is integral, the box ships flat and forms its compartments as it is assembled, reducing loose parts on the packing line.

Good Fit For

  • Countertop displays of upright units
  • Impulse or point-of-sale merchandising
  • Grouping many small items in one tray

Key Advantages

  • Integral partition seats units upright
  • Keeps items separated and easy to pick
  • No separate insert to source or assemble

Assembly & Construction

The partition panels are die-cut into the blank and punched out during setup, folding down to form cells while the tray walls raise around them. The base locks or glues to hold the shape under the weight of loaded units. Packers erect the tray, press out the partition, and drop products into their slots, so the compartments form as part of assembly rather than requiring a separately inserted divider.

Materials & Board Options

A stiff paperboard can suit lighter countertop versions where the punched partition needs to hold a crease, while heavier products often point toward a corrugated grade for wall and cell strength. Final caliper, any flute, and coating typically depend on the number and weight of units, the tray size, print, filling method, and handling, so the build is usually confirmed with a loaded sample.

Pre-Production Planning Checklist

  • Confirm the punched partition seats each unit upright
  • Check the tray base holds shape under the loaded weight
  • Verify cell spacing matches the product footprint
