Structure and Board for What's Inside

Food and beverage packaging has to do two jobs at once: look appetizing and behave correctly around the product. That means the board, coating, and structure all follow from what's inside — dry goods, baked items, confections, or bottled and bagged drinks each have different needs.

This collection covers the formats we build most for the category: window boxes that show baked goods, gable boxes for food-to-go, cartons sized to coffee bags and pods, and divided trays for confections. Where a product needs a grease-aware liner or a specific coating, we advise on board appropriate to the contents.

Formats by Food Type

Product Format Feature
Bakery / pastry Window box or auto-bottom carton Window shows product; sturdy base
Chocolate / confection Rigid box or divided tray Cavity trays hold pieces
Coffee (bag or pods) Carton sized to bag / multipack Right-sized to gusseted bag
Food-to-go Gable or takeout box Handle and quick assembly

Board, Coatings, and Contents

We select board and any coating to suit the specific product and how it contacts the package. Dry, wrapped, or bagged goods are the most straightforward. For items with grease or moisture, we discuss liners and coatings appropriate to the contents. We don't make regulatory claims we can't substantiate — instead we help you choose a specification and confirm suitability for your product before production.

Formats That Move Product

Food and beverage packaging often has to work on a counter, in a grab-and-go case, and in a customer's hands. Window boxes let a bakery show its product; gable and takeout boxes make food portable; right-sized cartons present coffee bags and pods cleanly. We size each format to its contents so nothing shifts, and select board and any coating to suit how the product contacts the package. Secondary cartons should also reserve clear panels for ingredients, handling instructions, date codes, and other required product information. We don't publish regulatory or certification claims we can't substantiate for a given order — instead we help you choose a specification and confirm suitability before production. We don't package regulated products.
